Memorial Day book club

Great reading, great cartoons for Memorial Day. Two books, two Pulitzer Prizes. If you want to know what WWII was about, start here. My New Mexico heroes, Bill Mauldin and Ernie Pyle were the eyes and ears for the home front and up front. Mauldin in Stars and Stripes, Pyle nationally, internationally syndicated in over 300 newspapers. Ernie Pyle died with Marines landing on Guadalcanal. Bill Mauldin had a long career as the finest editorial cartoonist in the business. My tribute to Mauldin, from 2016.
