Cruisin’ 66 in Albuquerque

Cruisin, dancin’ in old Albuquerque. Hitching Post on West Central, Route 66, popular Country&Western spot in the 50s through the ’60s. Frank’s Drive-In on Lomas NE was a Highland High hang. Cruisin Frank’s, Mac’s, Vip’s, Jotter’s Ace, Peter Pan’s took up most of Friday and Saturday nights. See George Lucas’ “American Graffiti” for Modesto, Cali version. Same thing. I miss the Frank’s chile cheeseburger (similar to Tommy’s in LA) but Blake’s Lotaburger green chile cheeseburger is still awesome–all over New Mexico, since 1953. This nostalgia brought to you by KQEO Radio.
