Clyde Browne built Abbey San Encino between 1915 and 1925 and three generations of Brownes lived there through the years. Clyde’s famous grandson, Clyde Jackson Browne, among them.
“For Everyman,” cover shot at Abbey San Encino.
Presently being renovated, surrounded by a 10 ft high chain link fence. Glad I finally found it, corner of North Figueroa and Arroyo Glen. Too bad my girlfriend in 1969, Jackson’s sister, Roberta ‘Berbie’ Browne never took me there. I might have been inspired to break out my camera. Great portrait backdrop.
